At Nest Blinds we take child safety seriously and ensure we fit our blinds with the best safety devices and chain-break mechanisms on the market.
Chain-Break Connector
The loop breaks apart when undue pressure is applied on the operating chain. However, once inspected, it easily connects once more. Always use the chain-break connector that is designed to be used with your specific chain.
Breakaway System
The chain pulls away and falls from the headrail when pressure is applied on the operating chain. However, once inspected, it easily connects once more.
Fixed Tensioning System
These devices are fixed to an adjacent surface. They should be placed at the maximum distance from the top of the blind to ensure the cords and/or chains are held taut at all times.
Cleat
This should be securely fixed to an adjacent surface. It must be out of the reach of children. The cords are secured in a figure of eight after the blind has been opened or lowered. It's important to double check that all spare cord is securely contained on the cleat.
